Oscars Dresses- Five Favourite Finds

The 2018 Oscars have begun with the traditional Red Carpet promenade.

Among the stars parading this year there have been some seriously beautiful looks. Here are 5 of my favourites:

Gal Gadot in Givenchy and Tiffany & Co. jewelry

Gal Gadot is stunning in a flappper inspired dress by  Givenchy  with Tiffany & Co. jewellery.

I’m sensing a bit of a metallic theme here- I LOVE this stunning Dior gown worn by Jennifer Lawrence. Photo courtesy of US Magazine.

Zendaya In Giambattista Valli Couture Oscars 2018

This beautiful asymmetric gown by Giambattista Valli Couture is diaphanous and chic- without the need of bling – except of course for the Bulgari jewels.

And rounding out my Five Favourites is this elegant gown worn by Laura Dern.

This sculptural single sleeved flounce dress by Calvin Klein By Appointment is simple and elegant.

It just so happens that I haven’t included any colourful dresses in my round- up. the most elegant were understated in hues, and let the forms and detailing speak for themselves.

I have to give honorary mention to Rita Moreno who rocks her 2018 Oscars dress- 56 years after she first wore it to the 1962 Oscars!

This was the dress that she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for West Side Story.

She is certainly an inspiration – look for longevity & quality and you can rock the same outfit even half a century later. Now that is sustainable fashion!
