Earth Hour

OK, this isn’t a design- based post, but I believe that it is an important issue.

Earth Hour is approaching fast.

It is an annual international event designed to raise awareness about climate change.

It sends a message to governments around the world that we are concerned about climate change & the planet’s future.

It was created here in Australia in 2007, and is held on the last Saturday of March. This year it will be held on Saturday 28th of March form 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

To participate, households and businesses simply turn off their lights and non essential electrical appliances for one hour.

It doesn’t have to be a chore- you can make it a fun time. Kids really get into the spirit of Earth hour.

Here is a starting list of some activities that you can do without electricity- feel free to submit some more ideas.
